FACTORY 1970 CHASSIS

Original frames were designed for 150HP utility work, not modern 5.0L Coyote torque. Over 50 years, internal corrosion and stress fractures become a silent failure point.

THE PRECISION FORGE

A Transparent Look at Our Build Strategy

Asset Mapping

We start with a 50-million point laser scan of original Ford Bronco body shells. This ensures every radiator mount, body bushing, and brake line clip is accounted for in our CAD environment with aerospace precision.

CNC Laser Ops

Our 1020 high-tensile steel components are sliced using a 10kW fiber laser. Tolerances are held within +/- 0.005″, ensuring perfectly repeatable geometry that eliminates the typical ‘frame flex’ found in stock stampings.

Certified Welding

Hand-assembled in precision jigs, every joint is welded by specialists. We focus on Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) management to maintain the metallurgical strength of the chassis through every critical corner.

Laser Proving

The final product undergoes a 42-point validation check against our original CAD master. We ensure your suspension mounts, engine towers, and body points are perfectly square, every single time.

TECHNICAL FAQ

Deep Technical Insights for Builders

01 What makes the 1970 Ford Bronco chassis unique from other years?

The 1970 model year sits in the middle of the ‘Early Bronco’ era, sharing a 92-inch wheelbase with its predecessors. However, our Rolling 40 chassis is specifically engineered to accommodate the evolving suspension and braking needs of these mid-cycle models.

02 How does the chassis handle modern Coyote engine swaps?

The Ford Coyote 5.0L engine is a large DOHC unit that requires significant frame-rail clearance and specific mounting points. Our modular trans-mounts and engine towers are laser-cut to support the Coyote Gen 3 without modification, avoiding common structural compromises.

03 Is a Rolling 40 chassis a direct bolt-on for an original steel body?

Absolutely. Every chassis we produce is validated against original 1966-1977 body blueprints. All body mount locations, radiator support points, and fuel line paths align perfectly with factory specifications.
